Printer
The Printer button on the ribbon shows the selected printer and opens its settings. Profiles are kept in this browser and shared by all projects. The default is the LulzBot TAZ 5 (0.6): bed 298 × 285 mm, 290.7 mm tall, 0.6 mm nozzle (from your OrcaSlicer profile).
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Bed X / Y / Height | Parts that don't fit (even turned on the bed) get a warning in the 3D view; the print plate is laid out in rows this wide |
| Nozzle | Your nozzle size, for reference |
| Hole comp. | Added to the diameter of every new screw hole, counterbore, countersink, nut pocket. Printed holes come out small |
| Press fit | Added to a bearing's outer diameter in new bearing seats (0.1 presses into PLA) |
| Slide fit | The gap for parts that turn or slide against each other |
Features you already placed keep their own numbers; change them on the feature if needed. + makes a new profile from the current one; the bin deletes it.
Material and filament weight are set in OrcaSlicer, not here.
Fit test: measure your hole compensation
- Printer › Make the test plate. It adds a plate with holes of exactly Ø3, 5, 8, 10 and 22 mm (no compensation), each size engraved under its hole.
- Print it with your usual settings and material.
- Measure each hole with calipers and type the values into Ø… measured.
- Scrawl3d shows how much smaller the holes came out on average. Use it sets that as the hole compensation.
Redo the test after changing nozzle, material or slicer settings that affect wall width.
Too big for the bed
If a visible part doesn't fit the printer, a warning in the top-left of the 3D view names it with its size. Cut it into pieces, or pick a bigger printer.
